SUP Yoga: Heart Opening Backbends & Water Wheels

In this heart opening class we will explore the benefits of core strength and flexibility with invigorating backbends.

Class will begin with a moment of silence to connect you to your breath, your board and the elements around you. Gentle, grounded, breath synced movements will warm your spine and help you feel more comfortable moving on the board. Before you know it, you'll be flowing through a breath focused practice with grace and ease, opening up your body and mind to the possibilities to take taking deeper backbends on the board. After you've gained confidence and stability you will learn the basics of flipping upside down and holding yourself up in water wheels and inversions. Expect discovery, play and lots of laughter! After you've explored your edges you'll settle into yin like postures where you can reconnect with your breath and more deeply with yourself.

Practice will be sealed with floating savasana, loving kindness and space for gratitude.

You'll be taxied to shore feeling blissfully refreshed and rejuvenated.

Dress in layers and bring a towel if you'd like a little extra comfort during savasana.
